Worldwide Governance Indicators
Six World Bank scores for how a country is governed, from about -2.5 (worst) to 2.5 (best).
The Worldwide Governance Indicators sum up how a country is governed in six scores: rule of law, government effectiveness, regulatory quality, voice and accountability, political stability and the absence of violence, and control of corruption. Each runs from about -2.5 (worst) to 2.5 (best), with 0 the average across countries. The World Bank builds them from more than 30 sources: surveys of firms and households, and assessments by experts, NGOs and international organisations. They measure perceptions, and small differences between countries are within the margin of error.
