Exports by kind

Fuels, manufactures, food, farm materials and metals as shares of a country's goods exports.

This splits a country's exports of goods into five kinds, each as a share of the total: fuels, manufactured goods, food, agricultural raw materials such as cotton and timber, and ores and metals. Together they show what an economy sells to the world: Germany mostly manufactures, Saudi Arabia fuels, Brazil food and metals. The figures come from the UN's Comtrade database through the World Bank; services such as tourism and software are not goods, so they are not included.

About the author

Hello there, I’m Klaus Jürgen Folz. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil, and I work in Austria as a lead Python and Power BI developer. I built Data Mechanics because good decisions start with facts. Public data is often scattered, hard to find or locked behind paywalls, and too much of what we read about the world is biased. Here, every number is shown as it was published, next to its source, so anyone can check it, compare countries and leaders, and draw their own conclusions.
